Åh alle disse deadlines…

 

Ja ja jeg ved det, deadlines all over – det er en besværlig branche vi lever i. Jeg misser også mine deadlines.

 

Jeg lancerede i november et residency call til det nye Island Connect projekt. Et samarbejde jeg er helt vild med, hvor vi udvikler gode programmer for scenekunstnere sammen med C.IN.E centret på Mallorca og Domino i Kroatien – og der var deadline 3/1. Tænk en idiotisk dato – den var der ingen der huskede – og jeg havde også haft for travlt til at lave en reminder. Desuden havde Mallorca skudt deres deadline – Såååå det gør vi da også bare.

Og I denne omgang er det kun Mallorca residencyet, vi har deadline på. Kroatien følger senere.

 

Jeg kan kun sige at Marta og Biel, der driver centret på Mallorca er skønne mennesker, der har et kæmpe netværk i Spanien indenfor ny cirkus og fysisk teater – og ja BIRCA, det siger jo sig selv. Kom da bare på besøg. Jeg glæder mig til at få selskab derover i den fredfyldte natur.

FREE ARTISTIC RESIDENCY

BIRCA offers a residency program for one Danish performing arts company to do exchange with the C.IN.E center at Mallorca. The residency includes 2 weeks of free residency at BIRCA on Bornholm and two weeks at C.IN.E together with the group choosen from The Baleric Islands/Mallorca. We also cover flights to Mallorca and back for 4 persons plus you get strategic coaching by Susanne Danig and artistic coaching by Biel Jorda.

Exchange dates (tell us if the dates are a problem to you for some reason):

30. April to 13. May at BIRCA /Bornholm
16-29. July at C.IN.E/Mallorca

 

Applications should be send to Susanne@birca.org no later than 15/1-18 midnight and it should shortlydescribe the artistic background of the applicant and why you want to go on a residency program.

 

All applications will be evaluated by Susanne Danig, the final selection will be made by the Mallorca residency program C.IN.E to best fit into their program and artistic interests. We are interested to make the best fit between our resources, capacities and communities, so the program and the individual residency will have the biggest possible impact for the residency centres and the artists involved.

 

The residency part at BIRCA/Bornholm includes the following:

 

  • Free access to our white (160 sqm high ceiling) or black (130 sqm) rehearsal spaces (both with dancefloors) in 2 weeks.
  • Accomodation area with 3 rooms
  • Access to kitchen, living areas, washing, internet
  • Transport to/from airport or harbor
  • 6 hours of strategic development with director Susanne Danig
  • The opportunity of doing work-in-progress showing for local audiences and engaging in artistic talks.

 

BIRCA is looking for groups in the areas of dance, performance and crossover forms looking to investigate in what it means to create in nature and benefitting from the serene surroundings.

 

The residency part at C.IN.E/Mallorca includes the following:

 

  • 2 weeks working space at the C.IN.E (200m2), to share with the majorcan company (mornings/ evenings). See website for details about the space.
  • A house located in Sineu, 5 minutes walking distance from the C.IN.E., up to 4 people, with all the facilities (cooking, washing machine, courtyard, living-room…)
  • Transport from and to the airport (up to 4 people, coming and leaving together)
  • 6 hours of artistic assessment by Biel Jordà, co-director of the center.
  • The opportunity to test your work with an audience or small group of people at the end of the residency if you need it.
  • Connection to the local artistic environment.

 

C.IN.E is looking for a group working in the field of new-circus, dance or physical theatre. The directors of C.IN.E has for many years run the production company Res de Res i En Blanc.
